Grant Criteria
To receive a grant from the Footprints in the Sand Foundation your child or children must:
- Live, worship or work in Bergen County, NJ or Rockland County, NY
- Be under 18 years old
- Be coping with an illness, death or divorce
Program Details
The Foundation is a resource where children and their families can receive the support of our network of skilled professionals.
Counseling is offered to children under 18 who do not have insurance or if their insurance does not fully cover their therapy. We will also help to cover co-pays where applicable. If your child does not have a counselor they are currently working with, we will refer them to one of our recommended, licensed counselors.
*All recommended counselors are licensed consultants who specialize in youth services and are not paid employees of the Foundation.
The Foundation is for you if your child is:
- Consumed or overwhelmed dealing with their diagnosis or the diagnosis of their loved one
- Struggling with facing treatments and side effects both physically and emotionally
- Coping with grief from a recent death
- Feeling depressed
- Dealing with a mental ailment
- Dealing with a developmental ailment
- Struggling with a recent divorce
- Dealing with substance abuse or alcoholism
What's Next?
Please complete and submit a Grant Application and return it to our office. Please be aware that grant requests will be reviewed at the end of each calendar quarter, March, June, Sept & Dec. All requests will be answered within 30 days of their review date.
Important Information
If your child is selected to receive a grant from the Footprints in the Sand Foundation you will be awarded a specific dollar amount based on the financial information you provide in your grant application supported by prior years tax returns & all other relevant financial information.
The grant will be paid directly to the service provider, NEVER directly to the grant recipient.
All counselors, programs and groups must be approved and agreed upon between Footprints AND the grantee prior to an award of a grant. Please specify on your grant application what specific group or program you wish to have the Foundation support.
If we can not assist you directly we will help you, to the best of our abilities, locate another foundation that may be better suited to your needs.
